Hey Mike;

I'd appreciate it if you would accurately reflect my stand on two things:

1) Abortion. My political position is that it is a matter to be (10th Amend.) left to the people of each state to decide the character of the governmental conscience. ergo, it is specifically a states rights issue.

My personal position is that Libertarians are committed to protecting 'life'. I don't go along with what a bunch of guys in dresses decided was the 'beginning' of life. Since I don't know when life begins either, I choose to defer to prudence and encourage people to seek other alternatives to abortion. I will NOT have the blood of the innocent on my hands. Remember the 'Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness' thing?

I have to commend Gary in this regard for his stand politically, and his willingness to take it upon himself to personally care for those children who may otherwise have been killed.

The very thought that a 'real' Libertarian could even pronounce themselves 'pro-abortion' lessens my faith in that human being, who effectively says,"I've got MY Life, to Hell (sorry, that's a place we of Faith believe exists) with the yet to be born". It is disconcerting to think that a Libertarian who believes in the individual 'above all' an that their body and Life is their own private property, can even utter the notion that one human being can decide the fate of another. And this is especially true in consideration of the fact that the entire pregnancy could have been avoided in the first place....by the one who wants to kill the result of their irresponsibility.

2) Public financing. You really have this wrong. At this point I have consented ONLY to qualify for the Clean Elections. So when you say I'm willing to 'take' the money, yer talkin' out of other than your mouth. My reasons are essentially two-fold: 1) To bring credibility (in terms of electability) to the Libertarian Party for Political purposes. And 2) Because the Clean Elections Act affects and regulates even those who don't participate in limiting contribution limits and MOST importantly, access to all of the forums and the statewide debates. I have now the opportunities to appear on stage with all of the major candidates in almost 20 more forums right now. Has anybody invited you to any of them?

Finally, I'd be real interested in what exactly you want to accomplish. Let's say you get the nomination, what are YOU going to do with it? Are you going to put in the enormous time commitments to forward the cause and present an electable candidate to the public, or just sit on it and be one of those who just make us all look stupid? I am not content to just be a 'bitch' and always complain about how things are, I intend to bring about real change in our lives and those of our amilies. My sights are set on what Arizona can become, and to make it a staging area for the a Libertarian tide that can sweep the country.

As always, Barry
