Letters to the Editor The Arizona Republic Phoenix AZ
Dear Editor:
Contrary to popular myth, Americans do not have a monopoly on the truth, and Americans do not always elect wise political leaders. It is hardly an insult to Americans in general for foreigners to point this out to others, even if those foreigners are government representatives. President Bush's low intelligence is apparent from his university grades and his elementary school-language speeches to anyone, Republican, Democrat, or independent, with an ounce of brains. More intelligent members of Mr. Bush's cabinet are, in fact, running the country. Mr. Bush is incapable of so doing.
There is no cause to be resentful of Canadian officials who refer to the president as a moron, nor is there cause to be resentful of German officials who compare some of his actions to those of a former president and chancellor of theirs. Indeed, whatever one thinks of Adolf Hitler's other shortcomings, he was certainly a smarter man than Mr. Bush, and I notice that few non- German government officials consider it an insult to Germany to make critical references to Chancellor Hitler.
So, Canadians, Germans and other foreigners, call Mr. Bush what you will. Now if only someone would criticize the morons who run the editorial pages of the Arizona Republic...
Sincerely,
Kevin Walsh
