GOLDWATER INSTITUTE, TUCSON CITIZEN ANNOUNCE
FINAL FOUR GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE FORUM
All Four Candidates to Attend
Phoenix, AZ-The Goldwater Institute and the Tucson Citizen will co-host the Final Four gubernatorial candidate forum in Tucson. The event will take place the evening of Thursday, October 4, 2002, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Marriott University Park, 880 East Second Street.
Goldwater Institute executive director Darcy Olsen expressed her excitement about the event. "We're glad to have all four candidates on board, and we have a great panel. But most importantly, we have organized the forum around audience questions, because citizens deserve to be heard."
The "Final Four" candidates are:
* Barry Hess (L)
* Richard Mahoney (I)
* Janet Napolitano (D)
* Matt Salmon (R)
The forum will commence with statements by the candidates, and follow with questions from four panelists:
* Celeste Gonzalez, Reporter, KUAT TV
* Mark Kimble, Editorial Editor, Tucson Citizen
* Tom Patterson, Chairman, Goldwater Institute
* Sal Quijada, Political Reporter, KGUN 9 News
After the panelists' questions have been answered, candidates will take several questions from audience members. The forum will conclude with a two-minute summary by each candidate.
The forum is free of charge and open to members of the public and the media. To RSVP for the event, contact Lindsay Humble at (602) 744-9618, or write to rsvp@goldwaterinstitute.org. Please RSVP by October 21.
